Day-wise Route & Plan
- Day 1: Saturday, 13th October, 2018
7 AM – Arrive at Katra
Arrive from Delhi at Katra (nearest base camp to Mata Vaishno Devi temple) early in the morning. You will be driven to the hotel. Unwind, relax and brace yourself up for Vaishno Devi Darshan ahead.

9:30 AM – Trek to Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan
The RailYatri cab will drive you towards the trek base camp. Walk through a trek of around 14 km to visit Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan. It will take approximately 5-6 hours to reach the bhawan by foot. You can also hire a pony or palki for convenience.
03:00 PM: Mata Vaishno Devi Darshan
The Holy cave of Vaishno Devi is situated at an altitude of 5200 ft. and is considered to be one of the holiest pilgrimages in India. Bless yourself with darshan of the Goddess Vaishno inside the Sanctum Sanctorum- the Holy Cave.
These Darshans are in the shape of three natural rock formations called the Pindies. There are no statues or idols inside the Cave.
04:30 PM: Lunch
Before resuming your walk uphill to Bhairon Ghati, enjoy a sumptuous vegetarian lunch at any of the Bhojanalayas around Bhawan.
06:00 PM: Visit Baba Bhairavnath Temple
Also known as Kaala Bhairava, Bhairav Mandir is nestled at a distance of 2 km from the sacred cave. It is deemed that the excursion to Vaishno Devi only completes after paying a visit to Bhairav Mandir, situated on the top of the hill.
This temple also involves a steep climb which can be undertaken by foot, ponies. It takes half an hour to reach the temple.
07:30 PM: Return trek to Katra
Walk down the trek to return to Katra. It will take approximately 4 hours hour by foot. You can also hire a Pony or Palki for convenience.
On reaching Katra, you will be transferred back to your hotel. Rest & relax. Overnight stay at hotel.
- Day 2: Sunday, 14th October, 2018
Exclusive Participation in Kanya Pujan and Hawan
The ritual of Kanya Pujan during Navratri celebrates the Hindu philosophy which believes in the universal creative forces to be feminine. Goddess Durga and all her forms are believed to be the manifestations of the same inspiration Mahamaya.
You will be a part of this special kanya pujan followed by hawan and Prasad distribution (delicious halwa, poori, chana).
Evening City Tour
Visit Aghar Jitto (6 kms from Katra), the shrine of revolutionary Baba Jitto. Next visit the shrine of Nau Deviyan (10 kms from Katra) and Baba Dhansar temple. You can also indulge in some shopping of Prasad, souvenirs, spices, from Katra market.
Have dinner ( additional cost ) and rest for the night.

City Tour and Departure
Post breakfast and check-out, you will be transferred from Katra to Delhi.
