Platform Locating

Logically all the platform numbers should follow the numerical order, but in many major Indian stations, this norm is not followed. You may find Platform number 7 placed beside Platform 10 at a station and do not be surprised at it. Such illogical numbering of the stations creates a lot of confusion and hassles for the passengers. Often running a risk of missing the train they were supposed to board. Though the passengers acquainted with the whereabouts of the station are completely at ease. But not every station can be known to everyone!

When you are travelling to an unknown station, illogical number of stations can leave you flummoxed. You will be stranded at the station without knowing which way to go. Just imagine you reach an unknown station at the last moment, you have to first of all ask for the station number where the train will arrive and after that start searching for it. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could learn about the expected Platform number for the train’s arrival before you leave for the station? This is possible with the RailYatri app.

Our app has eliminated the need to call up at 139 or other station specific numbers to know about running train status or expected platform number. To get through the man on the other end of an Indian railways toll free number needs a lot of patience and time, this is why it is not a viable option for passengers in a hurry. Why not use our live train status app to spot train running status or use platform locator?
