Logically all the platform numbers should follow the numerical order, but in many major Indian stations, this norm is not followed. You may find Platform number 7 placed beside Platform 10 at a station and do not be surprised at it. Such illogical numbering of the stations creates a lot of confusion and hassles for the passengers. Often running a risk of missing the train they were supposed to board. Simple Steps to use Platform Locator
- Download the RailYatri app from Google Play Store by using the link: rytr.in/and or give a missed call on: 8080809551.
- A list of options will come up on the Home screen. Click on the “My Trips” option.
- Enter your Train name/number in the screen that opens to Add a New Trip.
- Once the New Trip is saved click on Time Table
- The screen that opens will show all relevant trains between two stations and their expected Platform numbers.
You can arrive at the station and straightaway make your move for the relevant platform. This will save all the asking-around-time. Long distance has its own designated platform at the station.
